The Cat Lady with Nim

Crystal Wood is admittedly "The World's Outest Cat Lady." Not only does she provide meticulous personal service for her own herd of cats, she is active in the Siamese Cat Rescue Alliance, a national cat rescue organization. She has traveled as much as 30,000 miles to claim cats for the rescue shelter, or to deliver adopted cats to their waiting families. In 2005, she and her husband transported an adult Siamese from the Siamese Cat Rescue Center near Dallas, Texas to his adoptive family near Perth, Scotland.

Her two contemporary fantasy novels, Cut Him Out in Little Stars (1994) and Fool's Joust (1998), both published by Tattersall Publishing, received excellent reviews in Publishers Weekly, Booklist, Locus, Starlog, Renaissance, and other magazines. She has also written articles published in Texas Monthly, Dallas Life, and Starlog magazines, and has been a copywriter and project editor for The Summit Publishing Group and BIBAL Press. She has edited and designed dozens of books for self-publishing authors and small, independent book publishers, many of which have received positive notices in Foreword, Kirkus Reviews, and other trade journals and newspapers.

Crystal holds a Master of Arts degree in theater from Texas Tech University, and a Bachelor of Arts in theater and journalism from Hardin- Simmons University. She is a member of the board of directors of the North Texas Book Festival, Inc., and an officer of the Denton (Texas) Noon Kiwanis Club.
